Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

    1. Introduction
    1.1 Background of the study:
    This section should deal with the following:
    Introduce the topic to the reader and explain why it’s interesting or important
    Give a brief overview of what is already known about the topic
    Explain how your research fits into the existing body of knowledge
    Clearly state the problem your research is designed to solve or conceptualize
    provide more detailed information about the context of the research problem
    Briefly describe what each section of the paper covers
    1.2 Statement of the problem
    Expand the title by giving more specific details about the problem
    Explain the rationales for your research, and show the research gap that your study aims
    to fill
    set the research questions/hypothesis you aim to answer/test.
    1.3 Objectives of the study
    state your general objective that you plan to achieve in your research (related to your
    research title)
    state your specific objectives, and make these objectives align to your research
    questions or hypothesis
    1.4 Significance of the study
     Explain how your research will contribute to policy and practice

    1.5 Scope of the study
     Explain the scope of your study stating your specific geographical location, participants,
    and concept
    1.6 Operational definition of terms
     if there are variables that you are going to quantitatively measure, provide operational
    definitions
     Define those key terms in the way you use in your research (please don’t give
    conceptual definition)
    2. Conceptual framework/literature review
     Synthesize the previous research works published in reputable journals (preferably
    publications in the last 10 years)
     Generate conceptual framework from your review, and this should show the
    relationship between the variables you are interested to play with
    3. Methods and materials- this section should include the following sub-sections:
     Research design (descriptive, experimental, causal-comparative, case study,
    phenomenology, narrative, …or designs that are known in your field of studies)
     Research approach (quantitative, qualitative, mixed)
     Data sources (primary, secondary…)
     Participants of the study (human or non-human participants)
     Sampling (sample size, sampling techniques, and procedures)
     Data collection tools/instruments and procedures (if it is design or experimental
    research clearly describe the materials in addition to the procedures)
     Methods of data analysis (show how data collected from different data gathering tools
    has been analysed)
     Ethical consideration (explain how you maintain ethical code of conducts accepted by
    the scientific community)
    4. Results (findings for qualitative research) and discussions
     Present the findings first in the order of importance (i.e, present the most important
    findings first, and proceed to the least important ones)
     Compare the results with previous findings you reviewed in section two (literature)

     If your results/findings differ from/contradict with previous findings, explain the
    probable reason/s for why your result/finding/s differ/vary
    5. Conclusions and recommendations/implications
    5.1 Conclusions
     Discuss the implications of your study
     Describe the limitations of your research
     Suggest areas for future research
     Avoid over or under conclusions
    5.2 Recommendations
     Give suggestions to policy makers and practitioners, avoid advise or obligations in your
    recommendations
     Make sure that your recommendations are generated from the results/findings
    References
     Acknowledge all the sources you cited in the body section of your research
     Use APA style in the in-text citation and referencing
    Other criteria
     Make the tables and figures in APA format
     Use American English
    Use Times New Roman font style
    Use 1.5-line spacing,
    Make the spaces at the top, bottom, right and left margin 1-inch
    The maximum page allowed including references is 20 (A4 size)
    Leave 10cm space between paragraphs
